The Last of Us 2 Is Targeting the Base PS4 Model, Not the Pro

Over the past six months or so, the base PlayStation 4 that released all the way back in late 2013 has been running into a number of issues when trying to run recently released games. Many studios seem to be using Sony’s supercharged PS4 Pro as its target platform, but that’s not the case with The Last of Us: Part II. Speaking with USgamer, lead game designer Emilia Schatz said that the base PS4 is Naughty Dog’s target platform. “That’s actually what I’ve got on my desk at work, and so that’s what we sort of aim for.” Schatz then …

Sci-Fi Exploration Adventure Outer Wilds Lands on PS4 Next Week

Make some space for it by Stephen Tailby 2 days ago Following a leak from the Korean ratings board, Outer Wilds has been officially confirmed for a PlayStation 4 release. Not to be confused with Obsidian’s RPG The Outer Worlds, this is a sci-fi adventure that takes place in a truncated, sandbox solar system. You’re free to explore the surrounding planets and moons, and you’ll slowly piece together an intriguing mystery. It’s a very well liked game, so we’re very pleased to see it come to PS4. What’s more, we’ve only a few days to wait. It’s set to arrive …

‘Outer Wilds’ Open World Space Mystery Comes To PS4 This Month

I don’t know how else to say this, so I’m just gonna come out and say it: Outer Wilds is the best game of 2019. It’s an absolute triumph. A gorgeous, inventive, challenging, immersive, stunning mystery set in outer space that everyone, and I mean everyone, needs to play. Outer Wilds has been available on PC since much earlier in the year, and more recently made its way to Xbox One, where I devoured it via Xbox Game Pass and found myself unable to stop thinking about the stunning world developer Mobius Digital had created. Soon after finishing it, I …

But there were lots of smaller announcements too, including what would’ve been the surprise annoucement (if it hadn’t leaked a few hours earlier) …

GRID Review (PS4) | Push Square

The GRID series has an interesting history. The inaugural title, Race Driver: GRID, was a cracking debut that served as a sort of successor to the TOCA franchise. It laid down some incredibly solid groundwork that sequels didn’t quite build upon properly. Codemasters has seen fit to revisit the series with the appropriately named GRID, but can it finally live up to that original vision? Let’s start at the top level. Like its predecessors, this is a multi-discipline racing game that straddles the line between arcade and simulation handling. A breezy opener establishes this by having you partake in three …

The Bradwell Conspiracy Review (PS4)

The Bradwell Conspiracy wants to reach the same heights as Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch, but thanks to woeful performance on PlayStation 4 and clunky, unreliable mechanics, it goes in the opposite direction. After an explosion at the Bradwell Stonehenge Museum starts to topple the building over, it’s yours and a companion’s job to escape and work out what’s going on. However, the experience resembles a slideshow more than you might think. Aiming for a consistent 30 frames per second, the game rarely actually achieves it. A choppy frame rate plagues the game from beginning to end …
